for the lack of a 15mm wrench…
picked up some SPD clips for $15 and some shoes for another $15. forgot to pick up a 15mm wrench though, so I can’t install them. 9/16 is too small and 5/8 is too big. can’t find my adjustable. grr…….

my advice, invest in a wrench set, or at least buy a 15mm and keep it in your toolbag. and only use the adjustable in case of emergency; it’ll strip your nuts. $15 dollar shoes? i hope you got a good deal, and didn’t get what you paid for.
I’ve got a non-metric set but will take your advice to get a 15mm wrench. Used an adjustable to get the pedals off my old bike, and it worked fine, but would rather not try on my new bike.
both pedals and shoes were craigslist specials. shoes don’t have recessed cleats, so I can’t really walk in them, so I’ll probably want to replace them someday. adequate “training shoes” for now…
picked up a pedal wrench, is much better than the 15mm from my local hardware store.
also got some shimano MTB shoes, much easier to walk in. but I’ll save the road shoes for longer distances this summer
